Final round of funding now open for Moss Side community first

This is the final round of funding for Moss Side community first.

Please submit your application by 4pm Friday 29 August 2014.

Make sure that your project is based in the Moss Side ward and that it meets one of the priorities listed below.

Moss Side Community First - YEAR 4 starts

Applications are now invited for the next round of funding

Please submit applications direct to patricia.carmody@mosscare.org.uk

Deadline is FRIDAY 30 MAY 2014 at 12 noon. The Panel will consider applications early June.

Remember:
 - this is for community projects being run in the Moss Side area.

 - the maximum grant awarded is £1000.00

1.Promote the development, training and employment of young people

2. Increase local activities for children, by supporting after school clubs, holiday, play, sports and cultural activities, etc.

3. Improve the local environment, by addressing environmental priority issues, e.g. graffiti, drains, alleys play areas

4. Address the issue of climate change, to include recycling and education

5. Increase support and services available for vulnerable groups including people with a disability and older people

Next round of Moss Side Community First opens April 2014

Round 4 recommendations

This  4th round of funding received a high number of applications.

Unfortunately, the number of requests far exceeded the amount of money available for this financial year.

The Community First Panel have made recommendations for the following 6 Moss Side projects:

• Celebrating Martin Luther King 50 years on
• Compassion Food Bank Christmas food
• Cultural education for schools in Moss Side
• Keem Youth Shout Out
• Sisters keeping fit and the youth homework club
• Manchester Congolese homework club

These projects are now being considered in stage 2 by the Community Development Foundation.

Further updates on how they get on will be posted here.

The next round of funding runs from April 2014 so keep checking this page and the website for information.

Please make sure that your completed application form is submitted before 4pm Wednesday 2 October. The Panel meets 9 October.

Check that:

1. Your project takes place within one of the postcodes iof the Moss Side ward
2. You have included match funding for the amount you have applied for
3. Your project meets at least one of the required priorities
